Capture & Synaesthetics acknowledges the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung and Bunurong Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin as the Traditional Custodians of the land in which we create and collaborate . We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander peoples.

Capture & Synaestetics are back together to present our second collaboration session with Naarm local legend, Mabel.

Mabel’s music has played a major part within the sets of the Capture crew since 2021 when we first discovered her music. 

Ominous from her ‘My Body is a Tent’ EP stapled our dance floors and so this is a special book for our community to be showcasing Mabel with a 2 hour set.

Known for her bold contributions across both sound and visual mediums, Mabel brings her signature femme touch to psychedelia.

Merging elements of psytrance, progressive house and minimal techno into an electrifying dancefloor experience. 

A staple of Naarm’s underground, her finely tuned productions and dynamic DJ sets have seen her rise as one of the city’s highly respected artists, with recent standout appearances at MODE, Zeerust, and A3 Festival.

With two EU tours under her belt and releases on labels like Nehza, The Space Between Us, and her own Doglandiya imprint, Mabel’s ever-evolving sound continues to resonate far beyond Australia. 

Fresh off the release of her acclaimed Pleasure Phonetix EP for Roza Terenzi’s Step Ball Chain, we’re beyond thrilled to welcome her to the booth for Capture x Synaesthetics on June 7th at My Aeon.

ACCESSIBILITY PLAN

Access to the venue

My Aeon is located at 791 Sydney Rd, Brunswick. The front entrance has two steps into the venue, from here there are no steps throughout the venue. There is a shallow incline ramp leading from inside the venue to the courtyard and accessible toilets.

We are able to provide a mobile ramp for the steps at the front entrance if required. Security guards at the entrance or any of our crew members are able to organise this ramp for you.

Toilet access

There are ambulant and wheelchair accessible toilets available on the premises. These are located outside in the courtyard at the back of the toilet block. Please ask the assistance of one of our bar staff to give you access to the private toilet.

Lighting:

There will be no strobe lighting used for this event. Screens may include bright visuals though generally will not flash rapidly.
