Myanmar’s first cardinal, His Eminence Cardinal Charles Bo has dedicated his life to walking alongside communities facing hardship and uncertainty.

Ordained as a priest of the Salesians of Don Bosco in 1976, his ministry has been guided by a deep commitment to compassion, dignity, and hope for those most in need.

He believes that education is one of the most powerful ways to rebuild a nation.

For Cardinal Bo, schools are more than places of learning - they are spaces where young people can rediscover stability, confidence, and the possibility of a brighter future.

Through his enduring partnership with Catholic Mission, Cardinal Bo continues to nurture opportunities for children across Myanmar. His vision is simple yet profound: that by educating and empowering the next generation, a more peaceful, just, and hopeful future can grow.

Catholic Mission warmly invites you to a special evening of faith and fellowship as we welcome His Eminence Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, Archbishop of Yangon and Myanmar’s first and only cardinal.

Join us as Cardinal Bo shares his inspiring vision of “Hope in Action” - educating and empowering Myanmar’s next generation to build a more peaceful, just and hopeful future.
