Travel instructions
Closest car parking is on Victoria Drive - tickets are free past 6pm. Public transport via bus to the event within the Adelaide CBD is often best via the Inner City Ring Route (Routes 99A Anti-Clockwise & 99C Clockwise). This is free and operates during weekdays, and has stops at Rundle Mall, SA Museum, Art Gallery of South Australia, Royal Adelaide Hospital, and the Central Market. Hop off on either bus at bus Stop G1 on North Tce - North side. For Inner city trams are also free and run between South Terrace, the Entertainment Centre, Festival Plaza, and the Botanic Garden. Hop off at the Adelaide University Stop outside Bonython Hall. Entry instructions
For wheelchair uses, if you access the university from North Terrace: wheel past the front lawns on the right hand side, go through the Hub, and take the ramp down to the Union Building. If you access the university from Victoria Drive, follow the paved footpath on the left hand side of the George Murray building until you see the Union House. There is a lift next to the entrance of the Unibar. Function Room 2 is on Level 5 of the Union House. If you don't have student ID and the hub or the lifts aren't available to you past 6pm, please message the given phone number and Julia (white female in her early 20s with brown hair) will come down and give you an ID you can use for the night. From the lift, there is a corridor in front of you, slightly to the right, that leads directly to Function Room 2. This room should be labelled and we'll have our AUGDS banner to help guide you. Hazards
Wheelchair users: There are 6 roundtables in the room, however there is enough room to wheel between them (in either a manual or powered wheelchair). Both the chairs and tables can be moved upon request. The tables are quite low, so powered wheelchair uses with high seats may struggle to fit under the tables. Deaf/Hard of Hearing people: There are support beams in the middle of the room, so if you need a seat at the front of the table to lipread/hear better, please include that in your accessibility requirements in the checkout question. We will provide live captioning and/or a post-event transcript upon request. The event can also be recorded via Zoom so you can watch it back if needed. Neurodivergent people: If you have light sensitivity, be warned that the room lights are bright and that during the networking portions, the room will be quite loud. Feel free to bring fidget toys, as long as they're relatively quiet during the panel discussion. If you require some sensory downtime, please let us know and we can guide you to a quieter area (if you miss any portions of the discussions, you can request a post-event transcript). For other people with physical disabilities, feel free to reach out and ask questions at any time if you need more specific information.
Toilet location
From Function Room 2 (if you are exiting the room) accessible toilets can be accessed by following the corridor on the left hand side and then going to the right of the stairs.
