Career Storytelling Laboratories
Uncover your hidden strengths and get more clarity and confidence!
Saturday Workshops: Aug 8, Sep 5, or Oct 3
Turn your experiences into powerful stories for interviews, promotions and salary negotiations.
Ever wished you could sell yourself better?
Perhaps feel more prepared, clear, and confident as you step into that interview, pitch for that pay rise, or aim for that promotion?
We have something special to offer you.
Come join one of our new career storytelling workshops.
We'll help you uncover your best stories, unpack your unique strengths and speak more confidently in all those work situations where you need to feel good about yourself and perform at your best.
Why tell stories?
In job interviews you'll need a story when you're asked to back up a claim and provide an example, or when you answer the question "tell me about a time"
When you pitch for a pay rise or promotion, you'll be far more persuasive if you can provide specific examples of where you've added value or gone above and beyond the remit of your role.
A powerful story hooks the listener in and evokes an emotion.
So, not only will your audience listen to you – they'll lean in and remember you.
What happens in these workshops?
We use a simple but powerful formula.
In a small group setting we will give you ideas and a framework to follow to help you construct your stories.
We then get you to share those stories with the group.
Then together as a group we pinpoint the strengths we see in your stories.
Why are workshops SO powerful?
Sharing your stories in a small group setting has many tangible benefits.
Many of us have imposter syndrome.
Identifying your stories, then talking these out loud, helps you remember the important points and gain clarity around your strengths.
Being heard can give you confidence that your story is worthy, and that you can own some space to share what’s important.
The group provides a powerful mirror reflecting back what they see in you – so you may well identify strengths you’ve not considered before.
Listening to other people’s stories can help you identify other great stories of your own.
Who is this for?
This is perfect for you if you're a professional:
Looking to succeed in interviews, performance reviews, salary negotiations or pitches for promotions
Needing help identifying your transferable strengths and skills – for example you want to change careers, or return to the workforce
Wanting to gain clarity and confidence in presenting your strengths and skills
Looking for achievements, or examples of your impact to put on your resume
Wanting to feel more comfortable and confident "owning a space and sharing your work stories"
Looking for a supportive small group with a positive and optimistic agenda to help you succeed
What makes this so different?
This is not something that's often offered in the workplace.
When you do your performance review, for example, the feedback you're given can be a reflection of you competency against the requirements of a role - not you the whole person.
These sessions are about bringing out the best in you.
We rarely take the opportunity to pause and reflect on our careers – yet taking this pause and doing some reflection can be the gift that keeps on giving.
Identifying your stories, then talking these out loud, helps you remember the important points and gain clarity around your strengths. Once you start to believe in your stories, your brain starts to scan for more examples of where you have demonstrated these strengths.
There's also nothing quite as affirming as the confidence boost you get from another human being believing in you and your stories.
