Carer Gateway Spotlight on Aged Care: Reaching Beyond

The Carer Gateway Spotlight Sessions are free community forums held every three months, with a focus on areas of interest for carers and access to advice and resources. For this Spotlight event, we have decided to hold it after Senior’s Festival to be in line and celebrate this year’s theme of Reaching Beyond. If you are a senior, you care for an older person or you work in the aged care space we invite you to join us for a panel discussion to explore the many free programs and services designed to assist older people and their carers to live good lives.

On the day we will have a Panel discussion consisting of representatives from:

• Carer Gateway
• A carer with lived experience
• Carefinders
• My Aged Care-HCP Your Side
• And the Seniors Rights Service

There will also be an opportunity for Questions and Answers from the audience following the discussion.

After the panel session we are releasing some tension with a Laughter Yoga Workshop with Sharon Gambril, mingling for refreshments with an opportunity to network and we will be ending the event with a lucky prize draw!

Join us in a Laughter Workshop, find out how to access free support for carers, navigate the aged care system or apply for a Home Care Package. Then spend time networking with experts in the fields of healthcare and support services including the Carer Gateway, care finders, Your Side's Home Care Packages team and Seniors Rights Services.

We will also have a mini expo with a small group of service providers provide information in the space, including: Services Australia, Parramatta Council, Combined Pensioners and Superannuants Association, Group Homes Australia, Identity Support NSW and Multicultural Disability Advocacy Association. We will also have an open general information stand so please bring along some information of your services!
