Do you live or work in Nillumbik (and surrounds) and provide unpaid care and support to a loved one with a disability, mental illness, chronic health issue or age-related condition?

Join the Carers Collective at an in person event to mark the end of a challenging year, and to celebrate the beginnings of this wonderful new community.

With wonderful support from Merri Health, we will be hosting a lunch at a beautiful location in Cottles Bridge at the Omaru Alpaca Farm https://www.omaru.com.au/ where we will get to meet the gorgeous alpacas and one another.

Please advise of any dietary requirements.

What to bring: a picnic rug and/or camping chairs to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Please note: given it is a community gathering with food and eating, we can only accept people that have been double vaccinated and will need to ask you to provide verification to our COVID Marshall.

We are the Carers Collective, a free local carer support group in Nillumbik and the North-East, made for carers, by carers.

Our vision is to co-create a safe space to come together to connect, share and build resilience as a community of carers, where we focus on improving our health and wellbeing as a collective.

We welcome all types of carers that provide unpaid care and support to family members and friends with a disability, developmental delay, mental illness, chronic health issue or age-related conditions.

Upcoming peer support groups (open to all carers):

* Connect Care - peer support group (with Sandra) focuses on senior carers and those who have been carers, that support people with illnesses that come with ageing such as dementia; all carers are welcome to attend.

Save the date: Tues 9th November 10-11am online.

* Rise Up - an uplifting support group (with Nicole) for those caring for someone with a mental illness

Save the date: Tues 16th November 7.30-8.30pm online.

* Wellbeing Circle - a practical hands on approach to sharing and learning ways to take care of ourselves as carers and improve health and wellbeing.

Save the date: November 20th 10am-12pm in person.

* New Circle a peer support group (with Myra) that connects parents and carers of children with disabilities and additional needs
