Caribe - On Tour

The annual Wellington Vintage Fair features everything from sheep races to a car rally and a tractor trek. This year the streets of Wellington will also ring out to the uplifting and joyous sounds of Cuba with a special appearance from the renowned Sydney based band Caribé along with one of Cuba's very best dancers. Featuring some of Australia's top jazz musicians Caribé have become a festival favourite right throughout Australia. Bring your dancing shoes-the group are a wonderful melding of musicians and dancers from Sydney’s Cuban, jazz and Latin communities. Their music and choreography integrates elements of traditional Cuban dance and music with a modern jazz aesthetic. Their show is an immersive experience combining the incredible talents of a celebrated Cuban dancer Cruz Vazquez Borges and an 8-piece all star band featuring a dynamic horn section and some truly explosive percussion. It's music to get the whole town up and dancing!
