Event description

Proudly presented by the Lord Mayor's
Charitable Trust and IQR Group

Throughout her life Carla Zampatti was a trailblazer for women and a passionate campaigner for women’s causes and charities.

Carla was thrilled to partner with the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust last year to launch her SS20 collection in Brisbane. It was Carla’s personal wish that proceeds from this event went towards supporting women’s causes.

Sadly, owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was postponed to this year.

Following Carla’s recent tragic passing, the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust is honoured to be asked to continue to host this event in tribute to Carla’s remarkable life and achievements. The Trust will ensure that Carla’s wishes are granted and that proceeds from the event benefit women’s causes across Brisbane.

In partnership with iconic Australian Fashion label, Carla Zampatti Pty Ltd, the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust and IQR Group are privileged to host this unique fashion event, in tribute to the extraordinary groundbreaking life of the label’s founder, the late Carla Zampatti AC.

With the blessing of Carla’s family, the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust and IQR Group are privileged to continue her legacy of championing women and women’s causes by staging this event in her honour.

The Forgotten Women Project

Almost 700 women in greater Brisbane aged over 55 are homeless

The Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust and IQR Group Pty Ltd are proud to support The Forgotten Women Project. This project aims to support homeless women over 55 which sadly is the fastest growing homeless population in Australia. These women are sleeping in their cars, don’t have access to superannuation or savings and have often escaped abusive situations. The Forgotten Women Project, an initiative of Mangrove Housing, aims to provide local, affordable and safe housing for these vulnerable women.

Lord Mayor's Charitable Trust

The Lord Mayor’s Charitable Trust has been caring for the Brisbane community since the 1950s. Through critical grants and support to local and grassroots charities, we help people dealing with Brisbane's biggest social challenges.

Every dollar donated to the Trust is re-given to those in need.

The Trust supports over 90 Brisbane charities a year, with many of these charities supporting women through the impacts of homelessness, domestic and family violence, food scarcity, illness and disability.

This event will proceed subject to the relevant COVID-19 Queensland Public Health Directions in place at the time. Any changes to the event will be advised to patrons and guests as soon as is reasonably possible. When attending events, patrons and guests are reminded of their obligations to comply with public health obligations such as provision of contact information and health screening together with public health controls such as physical distancing, hygiene measures and adherence to all signage.
