Event description Foreword and Q&A by the film producer, Artem Kolibev.
The name of the movie is adapted from a popular and loved Ukrainian folk melody. The peaceful and neighborly existence of three families, Polish, Ukrainian, and Jewish, sharing a large house, musical evenings, and merriment in the city of Stanislaviv in the years preceding and post-war, is shattered. First in the Soviet occupation and the persecution of the Polish family, then, by the Nazi occupation of Ukraine, and the decimation of the Jewish family. Sacrificing their lives the Ukrainian family manages to save their neighbors' children and their own daughter.
Proceeds from the screening will benefit the Support Defenders of Ukraine program at Center Makor  and the Association of TV and Film Industry Entrepreneurs .
This screening is organized by Center Makor , Ukrainian American Educational Center of Boston , Ukrainian Cultural Center of New England .

Hostinformation Jewish Educational and Cultural Center Makor was established in 2005.
For years Jewish immigrant families from the former Soviet Union (FSU) in Greater Boston realized the existence of a tremendous need for quality Jewish educational and cultural programming. Young and elderly people alike believe that they are missing an integral part of their cultural heritage because there is no program solely dedicated to providing Jewish cultural and educational enrichment for them at a specific centralized community setting. With the closing of Leventhal-Sidman Jewish Community Center in Brighton in December of 2004, this issue became even more pressing. In response to this need, several Boston area based FSU Jewish community groups got together and after an extensive planning and community consultations Jewish Cultural and Educational Center Makor was born.
The Mission of Center Makor is to stimulate and grow a strong Jewish identity through enthusiasm for the Jewish culture among the FSU Jews and integration with the mainstream Jewish community in Massachusetts.
