Fabled is thrilled to welcome Caroline Shankle into the shop to discuss her new devotional guide, The Lion and The Bear! She will be joined in conversation by author (and her mother!) Melanie Shankle on Wednesday, October 15th at 7PM.

About the Book:

Strength to face the hard, the unknown, and the I-wish-it-were-different--from someone who's been there

· 100 devotions to help you walk through the tough stuff
· Encouragement and tools to advocate for yourself in a Christ-honoring way
· From a bold, candid voice offering peer-to-peer advice

God sent a lion and a bear to David to prepare him for battle before he fought Goliath. In the same way, each challenge you face in life is preparation for the next one--even if you'd much rather avoid conflict altogether, thank you very much.

Whether it's mean girl culture, peer pressure, a difficult home life, physical or emotional challenges, or the constant barrage of social media slights, you have your share of lions and bears to contend with! This 100-day devotional from Caroline Shankle is your compassionate guidebook for how to defeat those giants by trusting God one step at a time.

Through Scripture, reflection, and prayer, you'll learn how to advocate for yourself, lead rather than follow, and develop the strength to never compromise on who God created you to be.

About the Author:

Caroline Shankle is the daughter of New York Times bestselling author Melanie Shankle, and an animal science major at Texas A&M. She graduates in May 2025 and is planning to pursue a master's degree. In addition, she hopes to write more books and speak to young women about the battles they face. She wrote this book on Fruity Pebbles coffee and a prayer.
