Carport Session (I) Group Critique
Event description
Join us at Tributary Projects on Saturday April 30th 12:00pm - 1:30pm for a group critique to support the growth of these artists. (There will also be drinks and a sausage sizzle from 1:30pm to 3:00pm after, everyone welcome)
Carport Session (I) brings together in-progress artworks from three featured artists, Ashe (Dhudhuroa Country, NE Vic), Jacques McMaster (Wadjanbarra Yidi Country, FNQ) and Bryan Foong (Ngunnawal Country, ACT). Carport Session (I) challenges the convention of a gallery space for finished works by bringing a collection of in-progress studio experiments into the gallery. By positioning studio work in a gallery space, the artists are inviting the public into the usually private process of critical feedback. The focus will assist in deciphering the visual languages at play and seeing whether or not it aligns with the artist's intent. Aiding in developing the artists' work.
Please join Tributary Projects, Ashe, Jacques McMasters and Bryan Foong for a day of fun and pondering at our public program, Group Critique. Carport Session (I) presents a variety of in-progress studio experiments in the gallery. With Sebastian Henry-Jones (Naarm, VIC) facilitating the group critique, we invite you to observe, ponder and interpret these unfinished experiments all in order to support the learning and growth of these artists and their future works.
