Event description

“How do we think our way through the messes we’re in when the way we think is part of the mess?” – Nora Bateson (Originator of Warm Data Labs)

Join us for the first Cascadia Warm Data Lab Series hosted in Portland, Oregon, where we'll explore the connections that shape our lives, our region, and beyond. In a time when communities face complex challenges, we're creating space and engaging in meaningful conversation and unexpected discoveries.

What is a Warm Data Lab?

They are like an after-dinner conversation that continues into the evening with people you may have never met. Participants share their stories and observations about a common question and move between small groups and inside conversations to explore their perspectives from other viewpoints such as family, health, economy, and others.

Warm Data Labs have been described as a “kaleidoscope of conversation,” which may be packed with enriching stories, laughter, and insight. You can follow your curiosity, hear or share stories, and explore who we can be with one another. They may seed conversations for projects to connect, renew, and revitalize the Cascadia region.

How do I prepare?

No preparation is necessary. Bring your curiosity, open mind, open heart, and a friend or three! English will be the shared language during our conversations.
