Join the Friends of Casuarina Coastal Reserve Inc. for our inaugural BioBlitz. 
Become a citizen scientist for a day and join our scientists and naturalists surveying the environment and collecting data. 

Thank you for your interest in joining our inaugural BioBlitz 2025. Casuarina Coastal Reserve is now the newest NT National Park at our doorstep, and we are excited to explore it with you. There are a wide variety of surveys to join, so you’re sure to find something you love! You can join as many surveys as you like, choose from birds, reptiles, vegetation, microbats, ants, and small mammal surveys. If you want to learn more about the Reserve’s fascinating biodiversity, this event is for you!

Before you buy your ticket, please ensure you have read the detailed survey descriptions that are available via the program page on our website to ensure the survey is for you.

Please note that some surveys have already sold out, but as sometimes people cancel, we could add you to a waitlist. Just send Ulrike an email (ulrike@fccr.org.au) and let her know which survey you are interested in.

Important Information

Registration is essential – get your ticket ($10 each) before they sell out!
Proceeds from the tickets go towards refreshments and other costs of running this event.
Most surveys are on Saturday, 29 March, and a few surveys are scheduled for Friday evening and Sunday early morning.
It is a family-friendly event, but childred aged 5 to 15 must be accompanied and supervised by a parent or carer. Participating in surveys is not suitable for kids younger than 5 years.
While most surveys are considered easy using established tracks, some off-track and night-time walks may be more difficult for some people. Please consider your personal fitness and comfort levels when deciding which survey to join.
To ensure your safety and comfort as well as the safety of the wildlife and the protection of the environment, please always follow the instructions of the survey leaders and event organisers.
In the case of a cyclone watch or warning, or other unforeseen circumstances that could impact the safe running of the surveys, the event may be cancelled, and tickets will be refunded.
