Join Griff Morris at Catalina Sustainable Home on Sunday 1 November at 9:30 am to explore how the home achieved a 10-star NatHERS energy rating using a combination of lightweight construction and isolated thermal mass.

Griff will explain:

• How internal brick and rammed limestone walls work alongside stud-framed walls to support year-round comfort.

• How this approach reduced the number of bricks needed.

• How constructing different wall types at the same time helped shorten the construction timeline.

• Alternative materials and construction methods being explored in response to Perth’s current brick shortage.
