Catalpa - Escape to Freedom

Catalpa: Escape to Freedom recounts Australia’s most daring prison escape – from friendships, alliances and secret letters to the undercover spies and treachery that dogged the bold Fenians in their race to board the Catalpa.

In these free sessions for children, authors Mike and Joy Lefroy bring history to life as they share the story against the backdrop of the very prison the Fenians escaped from!

Each 90-minute session includes time for you to view the exhibition in the Prison Gallery.

Things to note:
- These are free events but capacity is limited and bookings are essential.
- Fremantle Prison also offers 'Convict Prison' tours, commencing on the hour each hour between 10am and 5pm. Visit the Fremantle Prison website for more information on their tours.
