Let's set the scene...

The masquerade ball was immortalised in William Shakespeare’s play Romeo and Juliet written in 1595. Masquerade balls are dances for the upper classes and began in the 15th century in Italy. Masquerade balls were very popular among the elite of Europe. The elite could relax without anyone knowing their identity. This could lead to many adult encounters or murderous outcomes and in 1792, Gustav III of Sweden was assassinated at a masquerade ball.

Welcome to Verona, the Italian home of Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet. In Romeo and Juliet, an age-old vendetta between two powerful families, the Montagues and the Capulets had recently erupted into bloodshed.

On the eve of the wedding, the CMC Murder Mystery will occur where the Capulets will host a grand masquerade ball in honour of Juliet Capulet marrying Count Erfit.

Beware! Montagues are not invited. If you are a Capulet, then you are a welcome guest to the dinner. If you are a Montague, you have snuck into this event uninvited.  (You will find out on arrival if you are a Montaque or Capulet)
