Event description

Welcome to the Cavs Bladez sign-up page!

Due to the limited size of these classes, we can't allow all terms to be purchased in a single order.

Instead, you will need to complete one order for each term you're looking to purchase:

  1. Select the term (based on the dates below) you'd like to register for
  2. Add the ticket you'd like for that term
  3. Complete check-out & pay (you'll be redirected back here)
  4. Rinse and repeat for each term you'd like to buy :)

Note: Terms will be opened up for sale gradually throughout the year. Watch your emails!

Bladez (9-13)

Bladez is Cavs' programme for kids aged 9-13. Term dates for 2025 are:

  • Term 1: Wed, 5 Feb - Wed, 9 Apr
  • Term 2: Wed, 30 Apr - Wed, 2 Jul
  • Term 3: Wed, 23 Jul - Wed 24 Sep
  • Term 4: Wed, 15 Oct - Sat, 13 Dec

The class focuses on the fundamentals of foil fencing - teaching footwork, bladework and tactics in a fun and safe environment.

Key details:

  • Sessions run on Saturdays (1:00pm - 2:30pm) and Wednesdays (6:30pm - 7:30pm)
  • Cost is $220 per term, and includes both weekly sessions and all equipment hire
  • Dedicated coach and assistant coach for the session
  • Limited class size (12 per term)
  • Mix of drills, structured bouting and fun games
  • Periodic intra-club competitions and events

Please note:

  • Bladez sessions are subject to a minimum class size of 8 students. If minimum class sizes are not met, the term may be cancelled.
  • While the price is inclusive of both weekly sessions, there is no requirement to attend both.
  • All Bladez members must also obtain affiliation with Fencing WA
  • Members wishing to fence at national-level competitions must also obtain AFF capitation (managed through your Fencing WA affiliation).
  • While all fencing specific equipment will be provided, we will require all participants to wear enclosed sports shoes and full-length pants.
  • Drink fountains are available at the facility, but we strongly recommend bringing a water bottle as well (it can get pretty hot).

Bladez trials:

We no longer offer discrete trials for Bladez as managing the class size, sign-up forms & equipment rapidly becomes a nightmare.

Instead, if you decide that fencing is not the right fit for your kid within the first two weeks of term, send us an email at memberships@cavaliers.com.au and we'll process a $150 refund.

KidSport Vouchers

KidSport enables eligible Western Australian children aged 5 to 18 years to participate in community sport by offering them financial assistance of up to $500 per Financial Year towards club fees in the form of vouchers.

Cavalier School of Fencing accepts KidSport vouchers in the amounts of $220 for Bladez terms. Applications can be made here.

To use your KidSport Voucher simply select the Bladez class ticket, then select the applicable voucher ticket - and a corresponding discount will be applied to your purchase.

You will then be prompted to provide your KidSport voucher code at checkout.

For KidSport vouchers in other amounts, contact the club at info@cavaliers.com.au

If using KidSport vouchers for multiple attendees, please purchase each ticket individually.
