Tales of resilience and triumph are woven into the fabric of human history, encompassing stories of individuals and communities overcoming adversity, facing challenges head-on, and emerging victorious despite the odds. In this CBCC Lunchtime Talk we'll be covering personal stories, tales of resilience and triumph, as well as harm in the workplace. Harm in the workplace can take various forms, ranging from physical injuries to psychological distress. Preventing harm in the workplace requires a combination of effective safety policies, training, hazard identification, risk assessment, and employee engagement.

About the Moderator:

Leonie, a seasoned marketing professional with diverse experience in Dubai and Sydney, now serves as the General Manager of Marketing at Racing NSW. Known for her innovative mindset and customer-centric approach, she skilfully addresses the complexities of digital transformation in her industry. Beyond her corporate responsibilities, Leonie is a committed single mother of three, with her entrepreneurial pursuits, which entail running a freelance digital marketing business and occasionally undertaking cake decorating projects, once her primary income sources. Despite facing numerous personal challenges, Leonie's resilience and steadfast determination drive her as she consistently strives for excellence in every aspect of her life. She passionately empowers women to overcome obstacles, reject societal norms and achieve financial independence by embracing their talents and taking risks.

About the Speakers:

Courtney Whittle

Courtney Whittle is the founder of The Georges River Motherhood Network, an organisation aimed at preventing social isolation and postpartum depression within the local community. As a mother herself with a background in maternal support and personal development coaching, Courtney utilises both her personal and professional experience to provide education and support to help new mothers understand and navigate the developmental transition and personal identity shift that occurs in early motherhood known as matrescence.

Renee Chahine

My 20+ years of experience in the banking and financial services industry extends across customer experience, credit, lending, relationship management and community engagement. I am currently a Senior Relationship Manager for Unity Bank where I have worked for 7+ years. In my current role I oversee a portfolio of clients, predominantly in the commercial, construction and land development sectors. My role allowed me to develop a unique set of skills and tailoring solutions based on my client’s various needs.

I am an alumna of the Swinburne University of Technology, where I recently completed my master’s in business administration. My ability to speak and write three languages fluently allowed me to help and connect with a diverse community.

I am a passionate advocate for women’s health, and a community ambassador for the National breast cancer foundation and a committee member for the Mother’s Day classic foundation which aims to raise awareness and funds for breast cancer research. Last but certainly not least, and my biggest achievement by far is being the mother of my 2 beautiful teenage children.

Denaaz Lentin

Dinaaz is an internationally acclaimed resilience and change keynote speaker, celebrated author of her memoir "Battle Scars," and a beacon of hope for many facing life's relentless challenges. Through decades of personal adversity, she has not only survived but thrived, embodying the very essence of resilience she passionately speaks about. Her story is a testament to the human spirit's capacity to overcome repeated traumas, rising stronger with each setback.

Dinaaz’s teachings extend beyond her speeches; she equips her audience with practical tools to build resilience, drawing from her lived experience and unwavering commitment to practice what she preaches. Her remarkable journey and insights have not only inspired individuals around the globe but have also garnered the attention of prestigious platforms, including an invitation to speak at the World Health Organization conference in Switzerland.
