Event description

Dean Edgecombe and the Seventh Sons host CBS September Blues Jam.
Dean Edgecombe and the Seventh Sons first got together way back in 2000 to realise a shared desire to present the early electric Blues sounds of Chicago, Texas, Memphis and Kansas City to modern audiences. In the past, the band has mostly kept it pretty casual, gigging in the blues friendly rooms around Canberra with a fairly fluid line up of players.
Over time, Dean introduced some of his own songs into the set, with many of these featuring on the album "Handful of Shadows" which received critical acclaim and solid radio airplay on Community Blues programs around Australia.
The band line up for this Jam is Dean Edgecombe on bass and vocals, Artem Grigoriev on guitar, James Hoogstad on tenor sax and harmonica, John “Murv” Cowell on drums & “Seventh Daughters” the wonderfully talented Judi Pearce & Nicky King on vocals.
The Seventh Sons set is a great mix of classic and original Blues presented with respect, excellent musicianship and a sense of fun. They’ll take you all the places the Blues has been.
The host band will be followed by some of the finest musicians in the region jamming together for a great afternoon of live blues music. So bring your family, bring your friends and don’t forget your dancing shoes.
