This timely event will follow the release of the 2026–27 Tasmanian Budget on 21 May and provides a valuable opportunity to hear directly from the Treasurer on the Government’s fiscal strategy, infrastructure pipeline and economic outlook, and what they mean for Tasmania’s construction sector.

The lunch will bring together industry leaders and policymakers to discuss the priorities and investment needed to support a strong pipeline of infrastructure, housing and construction across Tasmania.

With major projects such as Macquarie Point and a growing pipeline of housing and infrastructure investment set to drive activity across the state, the lunch will explore the key opportunities and challenges for industry — including maintaining reliable supply of construction materials, supporting regional project delivery and ensuring the capacity needed to meet Tasmania’s future growth, particularly in the context of ongoing global pressures, supply chain constraints and rising demand across Australia’s construction sector.

Hon Eric Abetz MP is the Treasurer of Tasmania, Leader of Government Business, and Minister for Macquarie Point Urban Renewal.
As Treasurer, Eric Abetz is working with industry to unlock investment, streamline procurement and reduce red tape. He’s backing job-creating projects like Macquarie Point, advancing TasInsure to lower costs for businesses, and maintaining a responsible Budget that supports confidence, growth and a strong pipeline for Tasmania’s construction and manufacturing sectors.
