CDAT 2023 Conference - Meaningful Communication and Connection, Shifting the Language around AOD
Event description
Communication for Meaningful ConnectionÂ
We invite you to rekindle distant connections, make new ones, share experiences and adsorb as much harm minimisation knowledge as you can to take back to your community. This year's CDAT State Conference will be a VIVID one and will once again be hosted at the Mercure Hotel, 8 Little Regent St, Sydney, Monday 29th and Tuesday 30th May 2023.Â
Shifting our language and how we see how prevalent the presence of alcohol is in our communities.... it's everywhere we go, to the point of being as familiar the phrase  "would you like fries with that". Â
We want to share with you:Â
- How changing our words can change how people feel encouraged, embraced, shamed or stereotyped by stigma
- Demonstrate how CDATs are able to do this in your communityÂ
- Highlight preventative and harm minimisation programs and activities that will engage your community
- Showcase the fantastic activities, programs and resources that you are delivering across the state Â
Monday evening join us for a mocktail and celebrate the achievements at the CDAT Recognition Presentation, (speak with your CDO who would eagerly support your nomination).Â
Added extra:Â Wednesday 31st MayÂ
Natalie Bramble from iclick2learn will be facilitating a practical and supported Evaluation and Acquittal workshop to start, progress or complete your Evaluation Report.  Â
