Laying down the law: how rights based legislative reform can improve the health of women being left behind
Event description
You are warmly invited to a briefing on the draft report:
“Laying down the law: how rights based legislative reform can improve the health of women being left behind”
The report details the CEDAW Committee’s contribution to strengthening the health-related rights of women experiencing situations of vulnerability, including gender based violence and poverty. The report is an important tool for policymakers, who can use it as a framework for designing legal and policy interventions, and for women’s rights advocates, to hold governments to account.
This will be an interactive session, with a brief presentation of the report’s findings followed by an open discussion.
