Celebrate Diversity with Art - Felted Soaps Workshop | PORT MACQUARIE
Event description
Grab a friend and come on down to MakerSpace Port Macquarie for a the popular Felted Soaps Workshops brought to you in collab with our friends at Wauchope Creative Hub thanks to Funding from Port Macqaurie Hastings Council.
In this workshop we will make a number of felted soaps to take home and either give as gifts or keep for use by yourself.
Felted soap is a cake of soap wrapped in wool but it looks so very special! The layer of wool around the soap helps it lasts much longer and makes it easier to hold on to. The wool also works as a very gentle exfoliator, just as a washcloth or luffa would.
Making felted soap is extremely appealing but relatively simple! We will use fleece (wool from Australian Merino sheep), soap and water. This process magically transforms the fibres as they bind together into a solid fabric. The fibres move around as we agitate them and the final results are amazing!
The lovely colours and texture make the felted soaps both beautiful and practical, and a perfect gift for friends and family.
All resources are provided for this course. Just bring your creative spirit!
