Celebrate Mum! Assembling Birthing Kits & Connect with Community
Event description
Celebrating Mother's Day with many others who wants to celebrate and honour our mothers as we fold Birthing Kits! This event is for all - adults and children to share memories and stories about our mums!
Help us to fold Birthing Kits to send off to the Middle
East and Africa (these facilitate a safer birth for women in places
where hospitals are few and far between).
We will share a laugh while enjoying many Afternoon-Tea Delights, and aim to fold 200 kits.
Enjoy an Afternoon Tea: Ethiopian Coffee Ceremony; Iranian Cakes and Indigenous Savouries from Kaurna home-soil!
We will also pack blankets for single mums (giving birth at the Women and Children’s in Adelaide). You are welcome to donate a little toy for the baby; a small gift for the mum (like deodorant / body cream / a nice pair of socks) and the knitted blankets are already donated.
Date and time: Sun 14th May 2023, 2:30 pm – 5 ish pm ACST
Location: Prospect Road Uniting Church Hall, 174 Prospect Road, Prospect.
Cost: $15 per person, $25 per couple, children under 18 free, $10 concession. Donations welcome to support the important of Circle of Friends Australia Inc as we work to make a better world for all.
