Join Friends of Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary and our friends from Birdlife Australia for a morning of discovery of the fascinating lives of migratory shorebirds which visit the coastline of the Adelaide International Bird Sanctuary for about six months each year.

- How many species of migratory shorebird visit Australia each year?

SCHEDULE

8:30 am Shorebird viewing along the foreshore of the Esplanade at Thompson Beach. We have powerful spotting scopes for viewing of the shorebirds, many which have recently arrived from their Northern Hemisphere breeding grounds. Look out for the FAIBS blue banner on the roadside.

10:00 am The group will 'migrate' to the Thompson Beach Community Shed on Ruskin Road for morning tea.

10:30 am Learn more about the story of our amazing migratory shorebirds

- Protect Insects, Protect Birds – the importance of food sources for migratory shorebirds
