Adas Launch: Celebrating Ada Cambridge—local heroine and Victorian advocate for womens’ rights

Join us as we celebrate Ada Cambridge and launch the 2027 Adas, including optional afternoon tea.

In conjunction with Holy Trinity Anglican Church Williamstown, Willy Lit Fest is celebrating the life and work of Ada Cambridge (1844-1926) in the centenary year of her death. One of Australia’s most prolific and popular writers in her day, novelist, poet and memoirist, Ada Cambridge lived in Williamstown from 1893 to 1912.

Several of her most celebrated works were produced at Holy Trinity Vicarage on Nelson Place.

The Lit Fest’s long-running annual Writing Prizes, ‘The Adas’, are named in her honour.

Bookings: The event in the church is free. Cost of afternoon tea in Holy Trinity’s Parish Centre next door is $10. Entry to the afternoon tea will be available by payment at the door, if places are still available.
