Overland turns 70: celebrating a history of radical writing
Event description
Overland, once “Australia’s best five-bob’s worth”, is turning 70! In an early issue of Overland, founder Stephen Murray-Smith declared that “writers record the storms of history as they rage through the lives and minds of people. They must respond to the storm from whatever direction it is blowing. You cannot face one and turn your back on another.”
In our 70th year, amidst the raging of storms, we invite you to muster with us, as we have done this year and every year since 1954.
Join us at Testing Grounds on the evening of Friday 13 December for a very special night of readings and conversation!
There will be food provided and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
