Celebrating Jim Masselos (1940-2025)
Event description
The School of Humanities invites you to a gathering in memory of Dr Jim Masselos, a long-term member of the University of Sydney staff as Reader in History. Jim was an internationally distinguished scholar of modern India, and author of many works on Indian nationalism, the city of Bombay/Mumbai, Indian art and photography, and empires in Asia.
We will celebrate Jim’s scholarship and teaching, his art collecting and philanthropy, and his friendship with reminiscences from several colleagues, former students and other associates.
Light refreshments will be served at the conclusion of the ceremony. Please register your attendance by Aug 1st.
Please note that public parking at the University of Sydney is very limited. Buses from the city centre stop on Parramatta Road at the main entrance to the University, approx 2 min walk from the entry to the Chau Chak Wing Museum.
