CELLBLOCK - artist talks and film screening

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

'CELLBLOCK' is an exhibition by Mathew Dargan, Sara Maiorino and Georgie Mattingley, held at the Old Alice Springs Gaol. Each artist has responded to the old gaol site to create works that explore the personal, the systematic and the tensions that lie at the heart of our society.

Join us at Watch This Space to hear from the artists as they unpack the stories of their work and creative processes, how and why this exhibition came to be. Including a one-night only film screening of 'The New World' by Georgie Mattingley. Artist panel discussion will be facilitated by Wirangu woman, singer/songwriter/poet and activist Kirra Voller.

Please note: 'The New World' features content that may be significantly disturbing and triggering to some. This includes scenes that convey physical and institutional violence, explicit nudity and sexual content involving animals. Viewers' discretion is advised for this event.
