Bach in the Dark - Cello and Accordion Live Streaming - Postponed

Event description

Unfortunately, due to the Covid lockdowns in Sydney and Melbourne, we have had to postpone this concert to a date to be confirmed - stay tuned!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The wonderful Anthony Schulz is no stranger to Bach in the Dark live audiences. Rachel and Anthony met just under 10 years ago, and instantly clicked. Their music making has been called ‘audacious’ and ‘sublime’ (not in the same sentence!) – get ready for a night that’s a little bit different!

The combination of cello and accordion works beautifully – Anthony’s talents as an improvisor, jazz player and a master of the piano accordion means that the pair can move from Bach to Bartok to contemporary music seamlessly.

Over 2020 the duo couldn't play due to the strict Melbourne lockdown (where Anthony is based), and then the Sydney travel restrictions - these two have been desperate to play together for you all! They will play something for everyone - Bach, pieces inspired by Bach written just for them by friends and Australian composers Richard Charlton, Raffaele Marcellino and MB Sibson, two of Anthony's originals and some wild Hungarian folk music too. It'll be a concert with a difference!

Ticket sales will close at 4.30pm on the day of the concert. The stream will also stay accessible for a few days after the concert, so if you have plans on this particular night, you can always watch it a few days afterwards...

The live stream will be broadcast on the Youtube platform. You will need a link to access the stream - this link will be emailed to all ticket purchasers 2 hours before the event. If you have not received the link by 5.30pm (Sydney time) on the day of the concert, please email bachinthedark@gmail.com so it can be sent to you directly.

For the best listening experience, it is recommended that you listen to the stream through headphones or external speakers. It's best to check your setup before the concert by playing another video from Youtube. Bear in mind that video and audio quality may vary depending on your internet connection, network congestion, and other elements outside our control.
