    Event description

Mark Dudrow has been playing the cello for live audiences for over 20 years. He says of this project with Martha, that there is nothing that he has done that is remotely close. This, he says, is it. The culmination of years of dedication, of endless hours of practice, of the times. His life’s work is to share the song of the cello with all kinds of audiences, from festivals to farmers markets.

Martha Shepp has been a pianist and accompanist for at least as long as Mark, also playing for live audiences. Collaborating with open-minded genre-free artists like Mark, playing life-affirming works that can’t help but spark the innate creativity and optimism of listeners like you, is her passion.

Both Mark and Martha had previous careers as art educators, a fun serendipitous coincidence!

"The beauty, depth, and intimacy of classical music provides a conduit, promoting inner calm and an integration of spirit into our lives. Music has a healing power that has inspired and elevated the highest aspirations of composers, performers, and listeners throughout the ages. In live performance, a powerful emotional currency is exchanged between performer and listener that transports us to a different time and place, offering refreshment and the opportunity to reestablish contact and nourish the artist within ourselves."

We thank Wildflower Playhouse for providing a venue where magic can happen.

This is a short program with no intermission.
