Cello Concert @ Moonah
Event description
The Cygnet Cello Choir, led by Georgia Shine and joined by special guests, invite you to an evening full of joy, wonder and just a little bit of weirdness.
This celebration of sound will feature 12 female cellists of all ages playing a mixture of classical, folk and contemporary music, from Mozart and Handel to Bartok, Sigurbjörnsson and Casals, to spoken word and contemporary dance, to improvised cello chorus and who knows what else!
Come to the Moonah Arts Centre and see what happens when you mix a community cello choir with an actor, a dancer and some amazing local talent!
Guest performers: Jem Nicholas, Risa Ray and Georgia Shine as 'Three Way Weird'
Three Way Weird brings together a cellist, an actor and a dancer who share a passion for cross-disciplinary, multi-dimensional play and storytelling. How do you make a Three Way Weird? Add one Risa Muramatsu Ray; aka Tokyo dance talker, one Jem Nicholas; a big artist in a small-medium sized body, and one Georgia Shine; a classically trained cellist gone rogue. Together these three can be found on the streets and stages of Hobart, bringing colour, passion and spontaneous eruptions of joy from passers-by and audiences alike!
