Event description

The fun of a long-awaited bush dance has arrived!

Come along and dance the night away to some great trad tunes performed by multi-instrumentalists Luke Plumb, Dave McNamara, and folk fiddler Leueen Barber. Dance called by "twinkle-toes" Sarah Lewis. Celtic inspired, so Celtic gear most welcome and appreciated! Whatever that may be...

Preceded by afternoon workshops designed to get you immersed in the folk world in whichever way your Celtic connections may desire! As follows:

1.00-2.15pm. Luke Plumb and Dave McNamara teaching alternative chords in accompanying traditional Celtic tunes at sessions, live performance and dances.

3.00-4.15pm. Dance tunes to play acoustically at dance, and possibly more with Luke Plumb/Dave McNamara. Notation to be added to website bushdancelou.wordpress.com at later date.

3.00-4.30pm. Dance-calling with Sarah Lewis. This workshop gives prospective callers a possible (supported) chance to call a Northern Tasmanian Bushdance in December. Opportunity to practise calling with live musicians in last 15 minutes of workshop.
