Event description

Celtic Roots Sunday Session with Spirit of Alba, Jonathan Cope Celtic County Blues, & Pearl Roycroft, Clancy’s Fremantle, Sunday 10 November 2024

On Sunday 10 November 2024, two innovative contemporary folk roots bands, Spirit of Alba and Jonathan Cope Celtic County Blues will join forces for a Sunday Session at Clancy’s Fremantle from 6pm-9pm, supported by emerging singer songwriter, Pearl Roycroft.

Spirit of Alba are Perth's most exciting high energy neo-trad Scottish quintet with dynamic arrangements and quality musicianship. The band combines a melodic section of driving double fiddles and pipes with and strong rhythmic balance of bodhran and guitar.  They have performed at many festivals and have built strong following for their proudly Scottish repertoire.

Jonathan Cope's new Celtic County Blues ensemble is an intergenerational band combining Celtic folk roots and jazz muso’s. The style blends traditional tune melodies and country blues feels with original songs and instrumentals and features Reuben Cope on organ, Josh Gray on bass, Reuben Kooperman on drums, Dave Clarke on fiddle and harmonica, and Jonathan Cope on cittern and vocals.

Pearl Roycroft is an exciting singer songwriter who likes writing poetry that sometimes rhymes and singing alone in the bush. She has a haunting vocal style and beautiful original songs about stories of life on the road and faraway places. Having just completed her second album, Pearl will perform solo on piano and guitar.
