Event description

The Eastern Suburbs Banksia scrub, once a vibrant and resilient ecosystem, now teeters on the verge of vanishing from our landscapes. This invaluable habitat not only sustained our First Nations people for generations but also nurtured a diverse array of plant and animal species. The loss of this ecosystem would be a sad and irreparable loss to our natural heritage and local environment.

With this in mind Centennial Parklands Foundation in collaboration with One Tree Planted invites you to join us for a free corporate volunteer session this World Environment Day, June 5. This special and free volunteer session is dedicated to the conservation and restoration of the critically endangered Eastern Suburbs Banksia scrub within Centennial Park. Together, we will engage in hands-on conservation work including planting native species, plant propagation, watering, removing invasive plants and litter collection. Not only will your work contribute to the protection of this invaluable habitat, but you’ll also come together as a team. You’ll strengthen bonds and leave a lasting legacy of environmental stewardship to our local environment.
