Topic: Central Goldfields Art Gallery – past, present and future

Guest speaker: Helen Kaptein, Coordinator of Central Goldfields Art Gallery

Venue: Maryborough Resource Centre Atrium, corner Nolan and Alma Streets Maryborough, Vic. (Next to Library)

Have you ever wondered about the history of the site where the Old Fire Station in Maryborough is situated? What was the land like before a Fire Station was built? What is the purpose and possibilities of the Gallery? What will the Gallery look like when it re-opens in September after redevelopment and what will this mean for the community? 

This will be an illustrated talk with images and information about some of the strengths of the collection from Arthur Boyd through to contemporary work by Dja Dja Wurrung Elder, Aunty Marilyne Nicholls. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
