Event description

In this 2 day workshop (Friday 18 September & Friday 25 September) join exhibiting artist Nicole Ison and learn how to create hand built ceramic spoons and other small pieces. Take inspiration from  Nicole's beautiful works to generate ideas to design your own.

On day 1 Nicole will work with you using stoneware clay to hand build ceramic spoons with opportunity to create your own small piece. You will explore mark making to decorate your pieces with man-made and natural tools creating textured surfaces into the wet clay.

By day 2 the spoons will have dried to a stage called 'greenware'. You will be able to apply colour and pattern using food safe underglazes. Nicole will take all the works to be kiln fired and then return them to the Gallery for you to pick up and take home for use as functional or decorative pieces of handmade pottery.

All materials and lunch provided.
