Explore the world of ceramic colour and drawing without using glazes!
Some of the things we will learn are:
What ingredients to use to get beautiful, rich colour.
How firing affects colour and colour techniques to give your pots stronger or more subtle colours.
How to use the colour wheel in ceramics
Using complimentary colours
Creating palettes of complimentary colours
Using contrasting colour to enhance your main colour
Bringing subtlety and variation into your ceramic colour palette
This course is for artists who want more out of their ceramic colours, it takes you beyond the confines of underglaze and gives you the tools and knowledge to create subtle variations in colour on your pots and other ceramic work.
Please arrive at 9:45am ready for a 10am start. Morning and afternoon tea supplied along with colourants for your clay and slip for decorating. Participants are asked to bring along greenware pots and test tiles. Full details will be provided to participants before the workshop. Lunch, firing and clay are not included (clay is available to purchase at the studio if needed).
