Bring your student leaders along to CERES for the day for our free Student Voice for Sustainability event!

Immerse your students in CERES park, our living classroom, for a day of sharing, inspiration, and celebration. 

What:  Student sustainability leaders from schools across Melbourne will come together to present the sustainability initiatives they have implemented at their schools this year. They will also get the opportunity to tour CERES and participate in hands-on sustainability activities. This student voice session provides young leaders with a rare opportunity to connect, share, and be inspired by their peers from a diverse range of backgrounds who are passionate about making a difference.

Where: CERES Community Environment Park, Brunswick East

When: Tuesday 29th October, 9.30am - 2pm

Who: 1 teacher and up to 3 students from active* ResourceSmart Schools. Schools who have arranged with CERES to present on the day may bring up to 5 students. Only one registration is required per school.

Cost: Free! 

What to bring: Students please BYO nude food, tea/coffee and lunch will be provided for teachers.

*Unsure if you are active? If you have completed and uploaded your 2024/25 Memorandum of Understanding, inserted a comment, entered a bill, or uploaded a document on the RSS platform since July 1 2024, you are considered active. If you are still unsure, please get in touch with us at teacherprograms@ceres.org.au and we will point you in the right direction.

Schedule:

  • 9 - 10am: Schools arrive and register at Learning Centre (morning tea provided for teachers)
  • 10 - 10.30am: Welcome and introduction
  • 10.30 - 11.45am: Student presentations
  • 11.45am - 12.15pm: Lunch (provided for teacher, BYO nude food lunch for students)
  • 12.15 - 1pm: Group 1: Tour of CERES / Group 2: Hands-on activity 
  • 1 - 1.45pm: Group 1: Hands-on activity / Group 2: Tour of CERES
  • 1.45 - 2pm: Wrap up and reflection
