Indiana Arborist Association Day of Service
Event description
Come out and join us as we celebrate our 75th Anniversary by helping out the Indiana World War Memorial downtown! This volunteer service day will be held on
Saturday, April 23rd
There will also be an opportunity Friday night (April 22nd) to have a special guided tour of the facility by Brigadier General J. Stewart Goodwin, Executive Director of the IWM. There will also be a job briefing Friday night for those that can make it in preparation for the day of service. This project is focused on removing many Bradford Pear around the facility, removing some dead unsightly ornamental crabapple trees, and trimming out hazardous deadwood from the grove of Honey Locust just north of the Indiana War Memorial. There is a lot to do and we could really use your help! Whether it's just you and your 2 hands or your crew with machinery, it will be much appreciated as we make things safer for this extremely meaningful part of our Indiana history. We know this is a bit short notice, but if you are available to help please register as soon as possible so we can work out logistics for parking and work assignments. Everyone must register separately and also please list machinery you have available for use on this project in the registration questionnaire. We are planning to have everyone report at 7 a.m. on Saturday morning to do final job and safety meeting as well as assign objectives. Again, this is downtown Indianapolis and parking is limited so we would love to know as soon as possible if you are planning to attend so we can work out logistics. Any questions can be directed at
