Be a part of the CEW ASX200 Senior Executive Census 2020 Media Launch. This is a registration-only online event (conducted via Zoom).
The CEW ASX200 Senior Executive Census 2020 provides a visible benchmark of women in our leading publicly listed companies. It measures corporate performance in the achievement of gender-balanced leadership in Australia.
Speakers include Sue Morphet, President, CEW; Karen Wood, Chair, South 32; Shayne Elliott, CEO, ANZ and Debby Blakey, CEO, HESTA. Moderated by Tony Boyd, Chanticleer columnist at The Australian Financial Review.
Sue Morphet
Sue, President of Chief Executive Women has over 30 years of brand, consumer goods, manufacturing, and retail management experience across Australia and New Zealand. Senior Executive of Pacific Brands Limited 1996 - 2012. General Manager of Tontine, Group General Manager of Bonds from 1999 - 2007. CEO of Pacific Brands Limited from 2007 - 2012. Chair of Manufacturing Australia from 2012 - 2014. Currently Non-Executive Director in Australia.
Karen Wood
Karen Wood is Chair of South32 Limited, the mining and metals company formed in 2015 with assets separated from BHP Limited. The company has operations in Australia, South Africa, Mozambique, Colombia, Brazil and the United States of America.
She is a former executive of BHP and held a number of senior roles with that company including Company Secretary, Chief People Officer and President, Public Affairs. Until 2019 she chaired the BHP Foundation.
She serves on the Boards of Djerriwarrh Investments Limited, State Library of Victoria and the Robert Salzer Foundation. She is a Vice President of the Melbourne Cricket Club.
Shayne Elliott
Shayne Elliott was appointed CEO of Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited (ANZ) on 1 January 2016. Shayne joined ANZ as CEO Institutional in 2009 and in 2012 was appointed Chief Financial Officer.
With more than 30 years’ experience in international banking in Australia, New Zealand, USA, UK, Asia Pacific and the Middle East, before ANZ, Shayne held senior executive roles at EFG Hermes and Citigroup.
Shayne is a Director of the Financial Markets Foundation for Children, a member of the Customs Advisory Board and holds a Bachelor of Commerce, Management Studies and Finance from the University of Auckland.
Debby Blakey
As CEO of $54 billion industry super fund HESTA, Debby leads an organisation passionate about making a difference to every member’s financial future while having a positive impact.
HESTA is a pioneer in investing with impact, becoming the first major superannuation fund to announce a total portfolio ‘net zero by 2050’ emissions target. A prominent voice for gender equality, Debby’s advocacy highlights that when women do better everyone benefits.
Debby holds directorships at the Fund Executives Association Limited; Industry Super Australia; The Australian Council of Superannuation Investors and The Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia Ltd. Debby is a WGEA Pay Equity Ambassador.
Tony Boyd
Tony writes the influential Chanticleer business column published five days a week across all the print and digital platforms of The Australian Financial Review. Also, he writes a monthly column, Chook Roast, in BOSS magazine.
Prior to taking over the Chanticleer column in May 2010, Tony worked in many senior editorial roles covering industrial companies, banking, financial services, global markets, telecommunications, and information technology. As well, he has worked as a foreign correspondent in London and Tokyo.
Tony joined The Australian Financial Review in 1988. after 10 years at News Ltd including two years as European Finance Correspondent for The Australian (1985-86). At the AFR he has held many senior positions including banking editor, Tokyo correspondent (1995-1998), global markets editor, IT editor, associate editor (financial services), senior telecommunications writer, and financial services editor for a total of 10 years.
