CFLA Professional Networking Night

Join the Criminal and Family Law Association at Melbourne Law School for our flagship annual event, the 2026 Professional Networking Night, held on Thursday, 14 May 2026, at the South Room of the Woodward Conference Centre, University House, University of Melbourne.

Guests are welcome to arrive from 6:30pm, with the evening running through to 9:00pm. Attendance is free for all CFLA members, and membership is completely free and easy to obtain at cfla.com.au, so please do not let that discourage you from joining us.

The Networking Night is the biggest event on the CFLA calendar, and an opportunity for Melbourne Law School students to connect directly with legal practitioners, firms, and organisations from across the criminal and family law sector. Structured as a relaxed cocktail evening with drinks and canapés, the night is designed to give students the space to have genuine conversations about career pathways, practice areas, and life in the profession, without the formality of a structured panel or presentation. In previous years, guests have included representatives from the Law Institute of Victoria, the Australian Law Reform Commission, Victoria Legal Aid, the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service, and a range of sponsoring firms and practitioners working across criminal defence, family law, government, and regulatory practice.

Business casual attire is requested, and brief addresses will be given on the evening by the CFLA's Managing Officer and Executive Officer. We look forward to welcoming you.
