Event description

Join Colorado Green Building Guild, along with affiliate co-host organizations, for Movie Night on Wednesday, April 24th at Rowland+Broughton Architecture's beautiful events space in Downtown Denver. We'll connect to watch two short films, accompanied by group discussion.

Screenings include:

  • In Pursuit of Passive
    • Description: In Pursuit of Passive follows the construction of the first net-zero, passive house built in the Greater Tetons-Yellowstone region near Jackson, WY, while explaining the Passive House building approach for designing and constructing more sustainable buildings and exploring the many associated climate and energy performance benefits. Features the home’s designers – Lindsey Love and Lindsay Schack, co-founders of a sustainable architecture and design firm based out of Bozeman, MT and Driggs, ID – along with building and climate experts. (16 min run time)
    • Filmmaker Mike Banker will be present at this event and available for Q+A during discussion
  • Home, Grown: The future of building is waste
    • Description: Building materials contribute an estimated 5 to 15 percent of global greenhouse gas emissions. What if we used materials that not only take less carbon to produce but also can capture and store carbon? In California, architect and climber Dylan Johnson joined up with Yvon Chouinard and a seasoned crew to construct two houses using straw bales that would otherwise have gone to waste. Watch Home, Grown to learn why they agree that natural building isn’t just better for the climate—it’s a better way to build. (12 min run time)
    • A project of Patagonia Films
