Chadash Dance: Walking in the Dark

Event description

This concert explores what it looks like to learn how to walk, find hope, and even treasures in the darkness. The show is based on Learning to Walk in the Darkness, by Barbara Brown Taylor, who wrote the book as she became increasingly uncomfortable with our tendency to associate all that is good with lightness, and all that is evil and dangerous with darkness. Often it is in the darkness that we grow the most, but we must let go of our fears and anxieties about it, ultimately landing in surrender. This original story, told primarily through movement danced by the incredible Chadash Contemporary Dance Movement dance company, also utilizes original film, spoken word, multi-media, and photography. We hope to change people's perspective about the darkness, that there can be hope and even beauty in it, as oftentimes it is where we will experience the Divine.

(Although this concert is appropriate for all ages, it is really geared for kids 8 and up, as there are some dark (literal) and emotionally heavy moments, especially in the first half.)

Online Ticket Sales close 2 hours prior to the show. Tickets may still be purchased at the door. See you soon!
