Chair
Event description
Chair is a new performance art piece by Oliver Shaw, marking his return - 8 years since his last solo performance at La Mama.
Chair is a quiet, meditative experience - not much happens. Oliver simply makes, unmakes and re-makes a chair. Within this performance there is space for contemplation and connection. Chair is 'post-structuralist' for a style and invites you to vibe, with the artist’s process, which embraces slowness. Chair is a simple kind of joy.
This work will be *premiering* on 18 April at 7pm at the upstairs studio at Temperance Hall, a performance art venue in South Melbourne. Unfortunately, this space is not wheelchair accessible as it is up a flight of stairs. Attendees should be aware that smoke will be used in this performance.
Please note: this performance runs for approximately one hour, followed by drinks and a 'showing', for another hour.
Tickets are $25.
See you there!
