Chalkline Music Festival

Get ready to experience three days of incredible music at the Macquarie University Chalkline Music Festival! 

This is an annual live music festival held by Macquarie University music students that seeks to encourage the talented MQ musicians and provide them a space to perform and promote their music.

Set in a range of unique performance spaces, this festival brings together an eclectic lineup of current and postgraduate artists, genres, and experiences that will leave you feeling inspired and energised.

Festival Overview:

Event #1 Evening Hadenfeld Gig 

When: Tuesday October 15th, 5:30pm

Where: Ground Floor, 10 Hadenfeld Avenue, Macquarie University

Duration: 75 min

You’ve just finished your classes for the day and you’re looking for a place to enjoy live music with friends! This event will feature solos, duos or small groups, due to the intimate nature of this performance space. This venue seats around 100 people.

Event #2 Music Studio 1

When: Wednesday October 16th, 2pm - 2:50pm

Where: Recording Studio 2, 10 Hadenfeld Avenue, Macquarie University

Duration: 50 min

This afternoon performance is held in the recording studio, seating around 30 people. This event will feature instrumentalists, singer-songwriters and composers. 

Event #3 Hadenfeld Amphitheatre 

When: Thursday October 17th, Doors (and food) from 6pm; Music from 7pm 

Where: Courtyard Amphitheatre, 10 Hadenfeld Avenue, Macquarie University

Duration: 2 hrs 

This performance will be held outdoors in the Hadenfeld Amphitheatre courtyard. This final day of the festival will also include a barbecue! Please note seating is limited to approximately 75.

• Seating: 

We will have directional signage inside the building to guide you to the correct venue.

On-site seating options will be available for most venues. Please note that seating availability will be subject to the size and capacity of the venue. 

Guests are also welcome to bring a pillow or even a foldable chair to both the Amphitheatre & Drama studio gigs. 

• Food & Drinks: 

Food and Beverages will be provided at some of the events ! Please note that the availability and options of food and drinks may vary due to venue location and on-day demand.  

• Lighting and art installation:

Warning - Seizure trigger and loud noise warning! Most venues will feature flashing lights and loud music.
