2 Day Watercolour Workshop for intermediate to experienced watercolour painters

If you have worked with watercolours and enjoy the challenge of producing loose, bold and free watercolours, then this is for you. Learn how to create depth, incorporate figures, connect shapes, and control edges as you discover how to exploit the medium to create wonderful landscape scenes.

Course outline

This workshop will suit students who have been exposed to the medium of watercolour and want to extend their knowledge to the next level. The course will take students through the stages of design, drawing and painting in an easy follow step-by-step process.  In this workshop you will be tackling landscapes. Chan will dispel myths in watercolour and share his valuable insights and experiences. Each student will receive personal attention and encouragement.

Learning outcomes

By the end of this course, you should walk away with a sound understanding of the medium of watercolour and gain practical insights into the intuitive use of watercolour to express your own impressions.

Chan Dissanayake is a multi-award winning watercolour artist living in Canberra, Australia. He is a highly regarded tutor and a well-respected judge of local and regional art awards. Over the last 15 years his passion has turned to watercolour. A medium that thrives in spontaneous response and free expression. His mastery in watercolour is manifested by the vast varying subject matter that he tackles from rural landscapes, urban city scapes to coastal seascapes. Known for his innovative approaches to teaching and generosity in sharing his knowledge, Chan has gained considerable reputation as an outstanding tutor and conducts workshops throughout the country as well as teaching watercolour at the Australian National University.
