Event description

Join First Nations facilitator Levi Islam on a cultural tour featuring Walyalup/Fremantle’s Manjaree precinct and the Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre overlooking the sea. Experience a special guided multisensory approach to Whadjuk Noongar history, culture and story in our beautiful and historic port town.

This tour is generously offered to delegates free of charge by the City of Fremantle.

Bookings required, as spaces are limited.

Meet at 2pm at the Fremantle Oval Main Entrance to be escorted to the tour starting location for a 2.15pm start time.

(Alternatively, you can join at 2.15pm at the tour starting location: Walyalup Aboriginal Cultural Centre, WACC.)

The tour will take approximately 1 hour.

Note: There are some uneven surfaces and steps during the tour.

Please register for your free ticket or join the waitlist. Spaces are limited.

Each of the 3 sessions will be running the same tour itinerary, so select one session only.

ChangeFest is the nation-wide movement for community led systems change in Australia. As the ChangeFest Movement we are committed to learning and acting toward:

First Nations voice being centred in local, regional and national decisions.

Power and authority being harnessed for greater equity and collective agency, over top-down deficit based responses.

As collaborators we align our power and resources to healing and transformation grounded in place, whether that be local, regional or country-wide in scale.

Community led systems change is a growing field with many approaches and initiatives. Each year more people and partners are coming together to re-imagine and influence how change happens through community-led collaborative action.

ChangeFest celebrates the significance of place and the progress being made. It supports the movement to learn and strengthen our understanding of community-led approaches and is a demonstration of how initiatives across diverse lands are encouraging collaboration across sectors, meaningful engagement, and elevating First Nations and community voices as a pathway for transformative change.
