    We're excited to announce our third Change Maker Series of conversations with significant leaders making a difference for women in our society.

    On the morning of Thursday 13 October, you're invited to breakfast at The Sanctuary, Adelaide Zoo as our Change Maker panellists discuss the importance of financial independence and economic empowerment in breaking the cycle of family and domestic violence.

    As we all work together to close the gender pay gap, advance gender equality and ensure that finances are no barrier to women leaving abusive relationships this will be an essential event to learn how you and your organisation can be a part of the solution, as well as raising money for our vital services and programs.

    Zahra Foundation proudly presents our Change Maker Breakfast Series where we can make a difference together.

    Get a group of work colleagues or friends, male and female and join us at The Sanctuary @ Adelaide Zoo and become a Change Maker.

    Corporate tables of ten are available at $750

    TIME  – 7:00 am – 8:45 am.

    COST - $80 per person or $750 for a table of ten.

    INCLUDES – A seated two-course hot breakfast with beverages included.

    Join us for a two-course hot breakfast, with beverages! There will be plenty of fundraising activities to help us raise money for our vital programs and services. Our aim is to raise funds to support 20 women to go through our programs and services, empowering them to rebuild their lives and create a secure future & be inspired by our formidable speakers, and our very own Arman Abrahimzadeh OAM Zahra Foundation co-founder, who will MC the event and take part in our Panel discussion

    Fiona Dorman, Chair, Premier’s Council for women, President National Council of Women of SA Inc. 

    As a member of the Asian Women’s Consultative Council SA, Fiona joined the National Council of Women SA as the AWCC delegate and has been active since the mid-2000s. Fiona is honoured to currently Chair the Premier’s Council for Women and in the past, contribute to the Australia Day Council of SA as a Board Member, at RPH Adelaide 1197am (Vision Australia) and as a member of the Torrens University (Laureate Australia), Human Research Ethics Committee. In these roles, Fiona has had the opportunity to contribute knowledge, and support community focussed programs and advocacy to drive change on a range of social and community reforms such as gender equality, homelessness and domestic violence.

    Rebecca Glenn, Centre for Women’s Economic Safety – Founder & CEO 

    Rebecca founded the Centre for Women’s Economic Safety (CWES) to support women experiencing economic abuse in the context of domestic and family violence, and to advocate for structural and systems change to support women’s economic safety. The Centre builds on her work in domestic violence and financial wellbeing; most recently at Insight Exchange, a social change initiative of Domestic Violence Service Management. Before that she worked in financial wellbeing at the Commonwealth Bank (CBA) where she was a key member of the Domestic and Family Violence Working Group, and at a not-for-profit organisation, Financial Literacy Australia, where she was the founding CEO. In 2019, Rebecca was awarded a Churchill Fellowship to investigate service responses to women experiencing or escaping economic abuse in the UK, USA and Canada. In 2021, she was named an AMP Foundation Tomorrow Maker.

    Trenna Probert, Super Fierce – Founder & CEO

    Super Fierce Founder and CEO Trenna Probert believe that when women do well, the world thrives. Her mission is to empower women financially so all people can prosper.  With close to half a century on the planet, Trenna understands why finance matters and how to harness its power for good. She is passionate about people and fluent in finance after close to three decades in the industry. She’s designed institutional investments; run strategy for a global private bank; been GM for an independent advice business; worked with global CEOs at Amex; and spent more than a decade as an entrepreneur, founding three successful businesses in the past 15 years. Those experiences, together with her personal story as a single mother who started life again at 34, fire her passion for arming women with the financial confidence, tools and support they need.

    Mariam Mohammed, Super Fierce Community Advocate 

    Born in Pakistan, and now living in Gadigal country, Mariam is an entrepreneur, speaker, and facilitator. She is a Fierce Advocate at Super Fierce – advocating to close the gender wealth gap in Australia by making super, simple. Mariam is also the co-founder of MoneyGirl – a social enterprise empowering women around Australia to become financially independent. In 2016, Mariam was elected Women’s Officer of the Sydney University Postgraduate Association (SUPRA). In 2017, She became the President – the youngest in the organisation’s 40-year history - and led the team that delivered a 600% increase in the organisation’s community engagement. In 2018, Mariam won the first-ever Australian Dell Policy Hack for a proposal tackling women entrepreneurs' access to capital in Australia. By 2019, she had co-founded MoneyGirl. Mariam’s work has been recognised in the Australian Financial Review 100 Women of Influence list, Marie Claire Next 25 List, 40 under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australians, NSW Young Woman of the Year Finalist, and 7News Young Achiever Awards.
