    Event description

Change X Unzipped is a Victorian university collaboration between Monash University, the University of Melbourne and Deakin University. Every year, students from these universities come together to host an annual two-day global health conference.

This year, our focus will be on the environmental determinants that impact human health, under the theme NExUS - where we discuss the nexus between the natural environment & urban social environment and its interplay with human health.

Delegates will be given the opportunity to explore these themes across the two days through engaging presentations, workshops and panel discussions.

    • Day 1's theme is "UNDER THE WEATHER: NEXUS BETWEEN THE CLIMATE CRISIS AND POOR HEALTH"
      • Day 1 will shed light on the interaction between the natural environment and human health, with a major focus on the climate crisis (NExUS).
    • Day 2's theme is "BUILDING BRIDGES: NEXUS BETWEEN THE BUILT AND SOCIAL ECOSYSTEMS AND HEALTH"
      • Day 2 will explore the interfaces between the built environment, technology, social constructs and population health (NExUS).

Day 1 will conclude with a social night held at Oxford Scholar on Swanston (just a 3 minute tram ride from the University of Melbourne), complete with free drink cards, trivia, prizes and plenty of opportunity to meet and chat with your fellow delegates. Some would say that it’s the best part of the conference - but don’t tell the academics team...
